Rick and Morty season four came to an end earlier this year but fear not fans as the creators of the Adult Swim comedy have been hard at work during lockdown. According to co-creator Justin Roiland, the writers have finished working on season five and have already started on series six. This means the wait until the latest episodes are released shouldn’t be too long.

The creators of Rick and Morty have released a teaser to show fans what they can expect in season five.
While the animation in the clip hasn’t been completed just yet, it does show work on the next series is coming along nicely.
In the clip, Rick and Morty are seen escaping another adventure which has clearly gone wrong as Rick is injured and the portal to get back to Earth C-137 is seen to be closing.
Thinking he is about to die, Morty calls crush Jessica and tells her that he likes her and, much to his surprise, says she likes him too and asks if they can go to the movies later.

Morty continues: “OK but what was his name again?”
Mr Nimbus then butts in saying: “I am Mr Nimbus.” and Rick points out: “He’s going to say that a lot.”
The teaser ends there so no other details are provided so far about who and exactly Mr Nimbus is.
But going by Rick’s reaction, he is embarrassed to call him his nemesis as he hangs his head in shame when he introduces him to Morty.
While Mr Nimbus may not become a series regular, he will play a big part in at least one episode of season five.
Roiland has stated they are “finalizing the [Season 5] finale” and already “almost done writing” season six.
A release date for the upcoming season has not been announced but as a teaser has already been released, it is likely to be sometime this year.
