Melania Trump Compared To The Infamous Marie Antoinette After Announcing Rose Garden Renovations While The US Is In Crisis!

Melania Trump is once again in hot water over her bizarre decision to do some White House garden renovations all the while the country is struggling like never before! As you know, the United States is currently the epicenter of a global pandemic, is struggling through a financial crisis and people have been protesting against police brutality and racism for months now!

With that being said, it makes perfect sense that people on social media were not impressed by the FLOTUS’ outdoor design skills.

In fact, she has been getting a lot of criticism and some Twitter users even went as far as to compare her to the infamous Marie Antoinette!

Millions of American citizens have filed for unemployment and can’t even pay their rent and nearly 150,000 people have lost their lives due to the poor management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, hundreds of thousands are still fighting against systemic racism!

Meanwhile, Melania Trump is redecorating!

That being said, many dragged the First Lady after the announcement that the Rose Garden at the White House is getting a new and refreshed look.

As you might know, that is also where the current POTUS, Donald Trump sometimes holds his press briefings so the renovation includes electrical upgrades for the televised interviews held there.

There’s also going to be a new walkway, shrubs, and flowers, all added in an ‘act of expressing hope and optimism for the future.’

This is what the First Lady announced via the Committee for the Preservation of the White House earlier today.

‘Our country has seen difficult times before, but the White House and the Rose Garden have always stood as a symbol of our strength, resilience and continuity,’ she went on.

Soon after, users started comparing her to Marie Antoinette, one writing: ‘Since Marie Antoinette is trending, remember what happened to her @FLOTUS? You and your ‘nancing’ around the rose garden hardly qualifies for anything aside from tone-deaf self-indulgence. You should be ashamed.’

Here are some more reactions to her announcement: ‘I wonder if Marie Antoinette redid the gardens at Versailles when the revolution was brewing.’ / ‘@FLOTUS People still haven’t received unemployment! People are waiting in the heat for hours to get tested, food banks, etc… Now is not the time to waste $ on yard projects! Besides, planting roses in peak summer heat is not the time to plant roses! #RoseGarden #MarieAntoinette.’
