Eamonn Holmes: ITV host takes cheeky swipe at Piers Morgan 'He can't talk politics'

This Morning host Eamonn Holmes, 60, has been avidly following his fellow ITV host Piers Morgan’s, 55, antics since he took his annual leave of absence from flagship news program, Good Morning Britain. He and co-host Susanna Reid, 49, are currently enjoying their well deserved two-month break away from the show, and Piers definitely looks like he’s enjoying every minute of it.

Ducking out of the UK now the coronavirus lockdown has been relaxed and travel has resumed, he jetted off to the Provence in France to soak up the sun and appreciate life way from politics.

Well, almost.

He hasn’t completely given up, still using his Twitter account to blast the government and their decisions throughout the pandemic.

And he’s made quite the impact.

Since ministers decided to boycott GMB for reasons Piers believes are because they are “too scared” to face him, he has launched irate tirades both on-air and on social media, calling them out for being “cowardly”.

But while he’s off sampling all southeastern France has to offer, Eamonn has been watching enviously from London and could help but have a pop.

During Thursday’s This Morning, he and wife Ruth Langsford tasted a pasta dish made by award-winning chef Angela Hartnett.

While guzzling the Italian platter down, Eamonn asked: “Does anyone follow Piers Morgan on Instagram? Because that man has seven meals a day!”

Posting on Instagram at around 5pm yesterday, he shared a video of an empty looking Heathrow airport.

“Leaving on a Jet plane ….. The new norm. #Heathrow eerily quiet – No wonder,” he captioned the post.

Needless to say, it begged the question: where is he off to?

Taking to the comments section, fans rushed to ask him about his destination but Eamonn has yet to confirm where he’s heading.

Many were convinced he was flying to Ireland, with one asking: “Take care, you off to Ireland Mr Holmes?”
