Back in 1974, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page recorded a track called Scarlet with The Rolling Stones. Now, almost half a century later, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have released the previously unheard track from the musicians’ prime. On how the original recording came about, Page said: “There was an invite to do a session. It was with Keith.”
The 76-year-old continued: “So I said, ‘I’ll tell you what, I’ll bring my guitar along and I’ll lay the solo parts on it.’
“It’s really great to have done it. It’s brilliant what Mick has done with it.
“But it’s also good to hear Jimmy Page flying as he was in the 1970s.”
Mick Jagger said: “I remember first jamming this with Jimmy and Keith in Ronnie [Wood]’s basement studio. It was a great session.”

Set for release on September 4, the new version of the classic rock album will feature 10 previously unreleased song.
Plus a full concert from the year of the record’s release in 1973.
Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones have released their first new song in eight years.
Back in April, Living in a Ghost Town landed, reflecting on life in lockdown.
Written by Jagger and Richards, the music video speeds through deserted cities around the world.
The lyrics include: “Life was so beautiful, then we all got locked down. Feel like a ghost, living in a ghost town.”
On Living in a Ghost Town, The Rolling Stones singer said: “So the Stones were in the studio recording some new material before the lockdown.
“And there was one song we thought would resonate through the times that we’re living in right now. We’ve worked on it in isolation. And here it is – It’s called Living in a Ghost Town – I hope you like it”
