Jeremy Clarkson's 'frustrating' backstage issues listed by Grand Tour co-star James May

The Grand Tour host James May, 57, opened up about the current hold up of the Amazon Prime series as he discussed his latest ventures during lockdown. The car-enthusiast also dished on his co-star Jeremy Clarkson, 60, and admitted he has been having issues with his other television series.

The former Top Gear host is fronting I Bought A Farm, which sees him attempt to get to grips with living at his new home in the countryside.

But following the lockdown, James admitted that Jeremy may be forced to film the series with a GoPro.

It comes after The Grand Tour hosts including Richard Hammond have branched out with new ventures outside of their main Amazon Prime series.

Speaking about his colleagues after their recent call, James joked: “How are they? I didn’t ask, to be honest. I don’t care.

“Hammond’s been working on something with his production company, Jeremy’s still trying to work on his farming show but that’s been frustrating, so a lot of it he’s had to do himself.”

He continued to The Sun: “I suppose he may have to film some of it by himself with a GoPro. The rest of the crew will be very relieved about that.”

The timing of lockdown came when the trio had planned an epic trip to Russia for the latest special of The Grand Tour.

However, James has since suggested they may have to continue filming in Britain.

Jeremy previously announced the filming for episode two had been concluded, but the editing still had to be finished.

This responsibility came down to producer Andy Wilman, who unfortunately was hit by the coronavirus.

In a video call with Jeremy in May, Andy explained he “had the plague” whilst referring to coronavirus, and called it “the worst thing he’d ever had”.

Elsewhere, the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host gushed over his daughter Emily Clarkson, who celebrated her 26th birthday earlier this week.

Taking to Instagram, Jeremy shared a throwback clip of her riding a bike as a youngster, in view of his 2.9 million followers.

In the video, Emily could be seen racing towards him as she shouted: “Beep beep daddy.”

Jeremy captioned the heartwarming video with a simple message, where he penned: “Happy Birthday Em.”

She replied to the post, saying: “Beep beep daddy.”
