The No 7 shirt was previously worn by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but the winger is set to join Roma permanently following a successful loan spell.

Saka first featured for the first-team in the 2018-19 campaign, but this season he has made a major breakthrough – playing 38 times across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing eleven assists.

A product of Arsenal’s Hale End academy, Saka has demonstrated his versatility throughout the campaign. Although naturally a left winger, he has also featured at left-back, on the right wing and in central midfield.

The No 7 shirt is one of the most iconic in Arsenal’s history having been worn by the likes of Robert Pires, David Rocastle, Liam Brady and George Armstrong.

Saka recently ended speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Arsenal which is set to run until the summer of 2024.

The 18-year-old is part of an exciting group of prospects that are emerging at Arsenal, with the likes of Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock having also been involved for Arteta’s side this season.

While his future at club level is secure, there is uncertainty about who Saka will represent on the international stage. He has been capped by England at under-19 level but Nigeria are eager for him to represent them.
