Amanda Holden mocks Piers Morgan after awkward encounter on holiday: ‘No clue who he is’

Amanda Holden, 49, showed off her signature banter with her former Britain’s Got Talent co-star Piers Morgan, 55, when they reunited while on holiday in France. The Heart FM presenter couldn’t resist mocking the Good Morning Britain host when he became a photographer after a group of young fans recognised her, but not him, in a restaurant in Saint Tropez.

Amanda shared the funny moment with her 1.5 million Instagram followers this evening and mischievously pointed out that the youngsters had “no idea” who Piers was.

The star was pictured smiling for the camera alongside a group of four children, while Piers took a photo of them all from their table.

Amanda quipped in the caption: “Thrilled to be known & asked for a photo from these lovely children from the #netherlands and the #photographer @piersmorgan (no clue who he is @bgt).”

Fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts on Piers’ awkward snub.

Piers and Amanda were both on the BGT judging panel alongside Simon Cowell from 2007 to 2011.

Unfortunately for the GMB favourite, his awkward encounter with Amanda’s fans wasn’t the first mishap he suffered during his summer break from the ITV show.

Piers shared a photo of himself on crutches earlier this week while informing his 7.6 million Twitter followers that he “tore a tendon” on the second day of his six-week holiday in Saint-Tropez.

The star was pictured alongside his three sons, Spencer, Stanley and Bertie, in the snap, in which he kept his right leg elevated.

He captioned the photo: “Peg-leg. (nothing like tearing a tendon on Day 2 of a 6-week holiday) @StanleyMorgan18 @spencermorgan93 @Bertie_Morgan11 #StTropez.”

After reading some of the more negative comments about his luxurious holiday in response, Piers sarcastically quipped that he was feeling “deeply touched by the avalanche of ‘goodwill’ messages”.

He mischievously hit back: “UPDATE: I’m deeply touched by the avalanche of ‘goodwill’ messages pouring in.

“I know my fans will be thrilled to learn that torn tendons are really f**king painful. But nothing a good French claret can’t cure.”

Piers was previously inundated with messages when he revealed he “twisted his ankle” last week.
