Xbox Series X release date leak: Is this when new Xbox and PS5 are coming out?

This week will feature plenty of Xbox Series X release news, including what new games you can expect to be playing. Microsoft has pledged that many of its titles will be cross-generational, meaning they will be playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X. But while this week’s Xbox Games Showcase will include plenty of exciting stuff, it probably won’t include a final release date for the new Microsoft system.

Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg has said as much, telling fans via social media that the Xbox Games Showcase will just focus on games.

“I know everyone is excited for Xbox Games Showcase next Thursday. Seen some wild expectations so if helpful this show has one focus, games.

“No business, devices or similar news, just games. A whole show about hour long focused on games. Hope you enjoy it!

“This was followed by another message which adds: “A friendly reminder in advance of our show tomorrow.

“It’s just games, it’s an hour show, also some good stuff from our partners in the pre-show. Proud of all the teams who have worked many long hours/weekends from home to put this show together. We hope you like it.”

So while there will be plenty of stuff to get excited about, there probably won’t be any Xbox Series X release date news.

While we don’t have official confirmation regarding Microsoft’s launch plans, there have been a few leaks surrounding other products.

The Microsoft Store has now listed the release details of Yakuza: Like a Dragon Day Ichi Edition, and with it, the release date of this new game.

The same date also appears on the UK PlayStation Store, suggesting that it is the correct date for the game’s release.

Sega has confirmed that the Xbox Series X version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be available to play as soon as the console hits shelves.

So if the next Yakuza game is coming out on November 13, 2020, does this mean the Xbox Series X will be available on that date too?

Unfortunately for us, there is no way to guarantee such an outcome, although it would fit the pattern of earlier Microsoft console launches.

All this has to be taken with a big pinch of salt, as the new Yakuza release date could change or could have been listed incorrectly.

But if Microsoft are planning to launch the Xbox Series X in November, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn that the PS5 will be coming out during the same month.

There’s no guarantee but Sony will want to have its product available alongside the Xbox Series X as soon as they can.

More details regarding the launch of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, can be found below:

“Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking grunt of a low-ranking yakuza family in Tokyo, faces an eighteen-year prison sentence after taking the fall for a crime he didn’t commit.

“Never losing faith, he loyally serves his time and returns to society to discover that no one was waiting for him on the outside, and his clan has been destroyed by the man he respected most.

“Ichiban sets out to discover the truth behind his family’s betrayal and take his life back, drawing a ragtag group of society’s outcasts to his side: Adachi, a rogue cop, Nanba, a homeless ex-nurse, and Saeko, a hostess on a mission.

“Together, they are drawn into a conflict brewing beneath the surface in Yokohama and must rise to become the heroes they never expected to be.”
