Martin Lewis shares how to save at McDonald's now – including Big Mac and fries for £1.99

McDonald’s has reopened more than 700 branches across the UK today. Customers who visit the fast food giant could save on their favourite menu items. In his latest weekly MoneySavingExpert.com Money Tips email, Martin Lewis shared the best deals.

“Social distancing measures will be in place and, to prevent congestion, the restaurant will carefully manage the number of customers inside.”

Sharing his latest tips, Martin explained how customers could save on their order.

He said: “With 700+ restaurants reopening today, we’ve McDonald’s hacks to help you make a tasty saving.”

Some of the savings are a result of VAT cuts for the hospitality sector.

Customers can get 20p off the price of a Big Mac, quarter pounder with cheese, or six chicken nuggets, with the price dropping from £3.39 to £3.19.

The price of a Happy Meal has dropped to £2.59, was £2.99, and breakfast meals cost £3.49, was £3.99.

McDonald’s customers could also save £2.20 on a McChicken Sandwich with a clever hack.

Those looking for a chicken burger could save by switching a McChicken Sandwich, £3.19, for a Mayo Chicken, 99p.

Customers must fill out a quick survey and they will be given a code that offers them the meal for £1.99.

The survey can be done multiple times and a new code is given each time.

This means the deal can be used many times.
