Kanye West has made headlines this week following the launch of his presidential campaign and for a considerable ‘Twitter rant’, which has sparked widespread concern for the musician and designer’s welfare. In a long rant on Monday evening, he singled out ‘Bill Cony’ and other individuals in a series of tweets that appeared to have little relevance to one another or to current events.
The name ‘Bill Cony’ has attracted significant attention, leaving many bewildered as to who exactly this mysterious person is.
In a Twitter rant, Mr West said “NBC locked up Bill Cony”, and the internet began speculating who Bill Cony is, or was.
The name quickly went viral on Twitter, inspiring hundreds of memes as well as consternation for the rappers wellbeing.
Google searches also spiked, with Mr West getting over a million searches in the USA alone.
The Kardashian’s have not commented on what Mr West had said yet.
The tweets follow Mr West’s Presidential campaign launch at the weekend, which was met with a confused response following some bizarre claims.
At the event, the rapper seemed to make policy decisions off-the-cuff and made several rants, including on abortion and on abolitionist Harriet Tubman.
Fans have questioned whether his last-minute bid for the White House is actually a promotional stunt.
The Charleston rally did little to clarify whether his run is genuine. But a now-deleted tweet sent from West’s account on Saturday, appearing to show the song list for a new album, added to the speculation.
The event, held at a wedding and conference hall in the city, was said to be open to registered guests only – but West’s campaign website had no function for people to register or RSVP.
The bizarre happenings of the past week have led to considerable speculation about Mr West’s mental health.
Mr West transitioned from rap artist to designer some years ago and currently works on his line ‘Yeezy’, which is famous for its trainers.
