Lewis Hamilton blasts 'ignorant' Mario Andretti, Sir Jackie Stewart over anti-racism views

Stewart’s views, meanwhile, were aired during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on British TV network ITV.

“I think Lewis has been a great example to an awful lot of people,” Stewart said. “He’s a wonderful driver. He’s got an enormous number of victories behind him. And he’s quite vocal about all his elements.

“I don’t think there’s as big a problem in that as there might be seen. For example, Cranfield University in England started having women get more interest in engineering in motorsport.

“Now, suddenly, we’ve got a huge number of women in Formula 1 because they’ve gone to good universities and been well educated, et cetera.

“Now, in Lewis’ case, if it’s colour he refers to, that again can change very rapidly. There’s no resistance to change in Formula 1. If somebody is clever and good at whatever they do. they’re going to be taken in in Formula 1.”
