Elon Musk: Neuralink will stream music directly into your brain through computer interface

In 2019, a preprint article on integrated brain-machine interfaces was published on the bioRxiv preprint server.

The paper described the “first steps” towards high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces that could help people with neurological and motor disorders.

Earlier this month, Mr Musk claimed his Neuralink chips will be able to retrain parts of the brain to help people struggling with depression.

He was asked on Twitter: “Can Neuralink be used to retrain the part of the brain which is responsible for causing addiction or depression?

“It’d be great if Neuralink can be used for something like addiction/ depression.”

To which he replied: “For sure. This is both great and terrifying.
