Chelsea set to agree Kai Havertz personal terms as Blues to beat Man Utd to £73m transfer

Asked about potential interest in Havertz earlier this month, Chelsea boss Lampard was coy – although he is known to be a big fan of the player.

“Unfortunately it’s another answer from me, that that is not something I want to broach at this moment in time,” Lampard said. “My focus is completely on the game.

“So I don’t want to give you any ifs buts or maybes for the summer, my focus has to be on the here and now.”

And former Blues striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has tipped his old side to recruit a centre-back, a left-back and a defensive midfielder after they complete all of their attacking additions.

“I think he [Lampard] will address the back four,” Hasselbaink told Premier League Productions.

“I think if you’re going to play Jorginho you need to do something about your defence. He can’t defend like N’Golo Kante can but he’s very good on the ball.
