Xbox Series X pre-order latest as Microsoft confirm big news about Xbox July event

Microsoft has confirmed more details about its Xbox July event being held later this week, and it’s not all good news. While gamers can expect to find out more about what next-gen gaming will be like on the Xbox Series X, other details could be left out. The tech giant has confirmed that on Thursday, July 23 at 9 a.m. PT, they will be giving Xbox fans a closer look at the new games being planned for 2020 and beyond.

This means world premieres and updated looks at some of the games they’ve already revealed this year.

One of the big highlights will be campaign gameplay from Halo Infinite, which will no doubt be the centrepiece for July’s Xbox Games Showcase.

Microsoft has also confirmed that there will be a warm up show going live on July 21, with Aaron Greenberg General Manager Xbox Games Marketing telling fans this week:

“Xbox Game Studios is pushing the industry forward with a huge variety of games, all of which support services and features that put the player first, including Xbox Game Pass and Smart Delivery.

“What’s more, our celebration of all things Xbox games will start with a Summer Game Fest pre-show beginning at 8 a.m. PT.

“Tune in for reveals, predictions, insights from YouTube creators, and more on some already-announced titles coming to Xbox. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the Xbox Games Showcase pre-show will air on YouTube Gaming.”

So will gamers find out anything else about the Xbox Series X and what it might cost to buy one?

It would seem a good time to spill the beans, considering that we’re probably just months away from the new console hitting shelves.

From what has been shared so far this week by Microsoft, this last bit of news seems less likely.

Following up his original announcement regarding the Xbox Games Showcase, Greenberg told fans on social media to keep their expectation set on gameplay footage.

“I know everyone is excited for Xbox Games Showcase next Thursday. Seen some wild expectations so if helpful this show has one focus, games.

“No business, devices or similar news, just games. A whole show about hour long focused on games. Hope you enjoy it.”

With that in mind, it sounds like there will probably be no surprise Xbox Series X pre-order launch or price reveal on July 23.

The good news is that the official stream will be supported in several languages and will be available to watch at around 5pm BST, in the UK.

The Pre-Show on July 21 will be the next place we will get hints at what will be talked about later this week by Microsoft.
