We’re not sure you’d want to wear these new headphones down the gym for your next post-lockdown workout. With an eye-watering price tag of £12,199, these have been officially crowned as the world’s most expensive earbuds – and make Apple’s £249 AirPods Pro look like a monumental bargain.
They’re called Blue Dragon and have been created by Chinese audio firm QDC.
So, why are they so expensive? Well, apart from taking three months to create each pair they are also made from some of the finest materials on the planet.
To help keep them light, you’ll find a design that features gold fused titanium which the firm also says this helps them produce exceptional audio quality.
And they certainly should sound impressive as each bud contains no less than 10 drivers with the output fully adjustable to match your listening preferences, ensuring perfect results.
QDC boasts that the design has been crafted to be ergonomically shaped to ensure that they achieve an exceptionally comfortable fit. Even the cable features gold plated pure sterling silver conductors, silver-plated single crystal copper and an alloy using copper and palladium. Finally, to make them stand out from the crowd they come finished with a total of 800 sapphires.

And, inside the faceplates are titanium panels that have been 24 carat gold plated. This unique effect creates the look of dragon scales on the earphone – hence the name.
