Leeds stars set for huge payday after Premier League promotion as Whites face £25m spend

Due to broadcasting revenues and merit payments, as well as parachute payments after relegation, Leeds are in for a healthy influx of cash.

That will allow them to strengthen Bielsa’s squad as they seek to avoid relegation in their first season back in the top tier and perhaps even look to replicate the success of teams such as Wolves and Sheffield United in recent seasons.

The pair are in contention for European football next term despite having only been promoted from the Championship in 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively.

Having signed Helder Costa from Wolves permanently for £16million, Leeds are also expected to sign Illan Meslier and Jack Harrison on long-term deals for a combined £13m this summer.

They could also be forced to sign Jean-Kevin Augustin on a permanent basis from RB Leipzig, which would cost them £19m despite the Frenchman having barely featured since joining on loan in the winter window.

Leeds hero Jermaine Beckford has meanwhile urged his former club to keep on-loan centre-back Ben White at Elland Road.

The 22-year-old, on loan from Brighton, has arguably been the best central defender in the Championship this season.
