The comet has proven a hit among amateur astronomers and professionals alike, due to its long and distinct tail.
The tail stretches for hundreds of thousands to millions of miles across the solar system.
Weather permitting, the comet is visible to the naked eye in the morning and the afternoon, making NEOWISE the best and brightest comet since Comet Hale–Bopp in 1997.
Emily Kramer, a co-investigator on NEOWISE, said: “It’s quite rare for a comet to be bright enough that we can see it with the naked eye or even just with binoculars.
“The last time we had a comet this bright was Hale-Bopp back in 1995-1996.”
On July 3, the comet survived a flyby of the Sun and is now headed towards the far reaches of the system.
