Outlander fans are already hoping for new episodes of the hit Starz series as the droughtlander has now kicked in. Here’s everything revealed so far about when season six will be released, as well as some teases from the actors themselves.
When is Outlander season 6, episode 1 released on Starz?
Fans of Outlander will be used to patiently waiting for new episodes by now after five seasons of the show.
However, it seems like the upcoming droughtlander between season five and six could be one of the longest yet.
Currently, there is no release date for the opening episode of season six of the time-travelling drama.
This is because filming was not allowed to begin as planned on the show in May 2020.

Instead, it was postponed following the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19, which impacted productions across the world.
This means filming has yet to begin on the upcoming season of the show.
Therefore, viewers might be waiting a little while longer to be able to see the series on their screens.
Speaking to This Morning back in June, Jamie Fraser actor Sam Heughan revealed the crew were working hard to try and get the show back filming.
Express.co.uk will keep fans of the show updated as soon as an actual release date is announced for season six.
However, ahead of it airing, a few things have been revealed about what fans can expect.
This includes how it will be based mostly on the sixth book in the series called A Breath of Snow and Ashes.
Although the show’s creator Ronald D Moore did also reveal they will be pulling from other books in the new outing as well
Speaking to Collider back in May, he said: “People who saw this fifth season will know we already started to pull from book six and other books in the series.
“We’ve always been free to play around with some of the chronology, particularly to borrow things from different books.
“So we’re not perfectly a book a season – and we’ll continue that going forward.
“The large that’s still defining where we are is we’re in the new world, we’re in the American colonies and the American Revolution is getting closer.
“So that’s a big thing that’s going to be moving front and centre the further that we get into season six.”
