Marks and Spencer launches first online recipe box with easy meals to cook from scratch

Food boxes have become a popular product offering for many supermarkets and even restaurants, who sought out new ways to feed the nation in the coronavirus lockdown. But it seems the trend is here to stay as retailers continue to launch new versions of the online delivery services. Marks and Spencer has revealed its latest food box, which allows shoppers to cook delicious meals from scratch without having to worry about a shopping list.

Marks and Spencer already had seven food boxes in its range, which gave customers the chance to buy a bundle of groceries and essentials that they could have delivered straight to their door.

The retailer sells boxes that start from £20, with fresh fruit and vegetables, meat selections and even takeaway-style ready meals on offer.

However, the latest launch is a new step for the brand as it expands its food delivery service.

The new Cook With M&S Recipe Box is a kit of everything you need to make three tasty recipes at home, complete with recipe cards with step by step instructions.

The boxes include 100 percent British chicken and pork, sustainably sourced king prawns and the freshest fruit and vegetables to make the meals.

The three dinners each use a Cook with M&S Paste, which are included in the box – handy sauces designed to speed up cooking while making sure meals are full of flavour.

However, not all the recipes require the whole jar so you can get creative with it for other dishes too, with other recipes available on the brand’s website.

The brand recently launched a cookbook to provide inspiration on how to use the Cook With M&S range, with over 70,000 cookbooks sold already.

April Preston, Director of Product Development at M&S says: “This is a bit of a game changer; amazing quality ingredients, super simple recipes allowing you to create the most delicious dinners from scratch. And all delivered directly to your door.

“I’m incredibly excited about this launch and can’t wait to hear what customers think of the new boxes.”

However, it’s not the only launch that Marks and Spencer has revealed this week.

The food halls are now also home to a new version of aperol spritz in a can – making it ideal for all those lockdown picnics.

M&S has launched its Aperitivo Spritz cocktail, made using a crisp sparkling wine and fragrant orange bitters.

Available in a £2 250ml can or a full bottle for £5, the refreshing ready-made drink is ideal for summer and contains eight percent ABV.

The store already has plenty of canned cocktails that are popular with shoppers, and added a Pink Passion Star Martini to the pre-mixed range earlier this year.

Sam Pembridge, M&S Drinks Developer said: “This is not just any cocktail, this is one of the UK’s favourite cocktails, given the M&S magic treatment and available for our customers in a can!

“Our Aperitivo spritz captures the classic bittersweet taste, ready mixed and perfect for summer evenings.

“I pour mine over ice for maximum enjoyment but sipped straight from the can is delicious too.”
