Lorraine Kelly speaks out after tearful ITV appearance: 'The toughest thing'

This morning Lorraine Kelly, 60, broke down into tears as she looked back on the past four months of presenting her self-titled show, with fashion expert Mark Heyes, 43, and Dr Hilary Jones, 67, ahead of her summer break. The ITV favourite later addressed her “emotional morning” on Instagram, before going home to reunite with her parents for the first time since the UK went into lockdown.

The television veteran took to Instagram to share a clip of today’s show, as she looked back on their time working throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

She started by saying: “That was lovely, wasn’t it? What a time it’s been!

“You know the toughest thing is, we can’t see the ones that we love,” to which Mark replied: “I know, I know.”

Getting very emotional about not being able to see her family, she continued: “Because you’re going up to see your mum.”

“Enjoy that big lie down, @lorrainekellysmith and we’ll see you after a well-earned summer break,” they continued.

“Thanks to @drhilaryjones, @markheyesstylist and to you, our fantastic viewers, for sticking with us through this incredible time!”

Lorraine previously revealed she will be taking a break from her presenting duties to visit her mother Anne and her ill dad John, who has a heart condition.

The ITV presenter’s parents live in Scotland, and she has been restricted to see her family due to lockdown measures.
