Indian Matchmaking is Netflix’s latest dating series which sees matchmaker Sima Taparia guide clients in the US and India through the arranged marriage process. Fans have already fallen in love with the hit show with some wanting to know more about Taparia.
Who is Sima Taparia on Indian Matchmaking?
New dating docu-series Indian Matchmaking follows a number of people hoping to find love in India and the US.
In the show, they are guided by matchmaker Sima Taparia who helps find them their perfect match.
Working to put together arranged marriages between families, Taparia is well-known in her profession.
In the opening episode of the show, she describes herself as Mumbai’s top matchmaker.

“I see the nature of the girl or the boy and what type of criterias and preferences they have.”
Fans of the show will know then her work actually begins as she goes through her database of clients to try and find them a good match.
Across the eight episodes, she then works to pair people up across the world.
Outside of the series, Taparia is based in Mumbai where she conducts her matchmaking business.
She currently has clients all around the world, including the UK, Hong Kong, Thailand and Australia.
This is also not the first time the matchmaker has appeared on screens as she was also part of the 2017 documentary A Suitable Girl.
The award-winning film featured Taparia as one of the matchmakers as it followed three Indian women in the matchmaking system over four years.
Taparia is married herself, having tied the knot to her husband Anup Taparia when she was just 19-years-old.
This was an arranged marriage between the pair with both of their two families coming from wealthy industry backgrounds.
