Who is Alexandra Cavill in Snowpiercer?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from the season finale of Snowpiercer.

The first season of Snowpiercer came to an end in a dramatic finale which is sure to have huge repercussions on the rest of the series.

Not only was it revealed there was another train alongside Snowpiercer, but some characters also made a huge return.

One of the big reveals was how Mr Wilson (Sean Benn) was revealed to be alive after all and in charge of a rival train called Big Alice.

However, perhaps one of the most heart-wrenching moments was when Melanie Cavill’s (Jennifer Connelly) long-lost daughter returned.

She made her dramatic appearance in the finale when she marched onto Snowpiercer demanding it be surrendered to Wilson.

Earlier in the episode, Melanie had revealed she had left her daughter behind around seven years prior to getting on the train.

However, she long thought she was dead until she made her dramatic reappearance in her life.

Although heading into season two, it does not look like happy family reunions are on the cards just yet.

He added: “I was not familiar with Rowan, but I saw her work, and it was amazing.

“James Hawes [Manson’s fellow executive producer] really liked her.”

As well as this, the showrunner revealed how she is set to play a big role in season two.

He said: “We already have season two in the can and I can say for sure that Rowan is a really terrific young actor and we all have really enjoyed working with her.”

Blanchard is an American actor best known for playing Riley Matthews on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World.

The 18-year-old star has also appeared in television series like The Goldbergs and Splitting Up Together as well as the film A Wrinkle in Time.

Viewers should now expect to see a lot more of her when season two returns to screens.

An exact release date has not been announced yet but a teaser trailer has dropped and the Manson revealed they only had about a week left on filming when production was shut down by coronavirus COVID-19.

He added to Entertainment Weekly: “We’re looking at ways to pick things up and try and complete the season. I hope this is doable.

“I mean, it would be a scheduling nightmare without COVID. We are looking for ways to finish the season because, yes, season two, it’s a good one!”

Snowpiercer is available to stream now on Netflix.
