Chilling Adventures of Sabrina first debuted on Netflix back in 2018 and marked the first Archie Comics spin-off from Riverdale to be launched. The teen drama got another series order after becoming a big hit. In fact, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina landed a special Christmas episode bringing fans some spooky Yuletide joy.
The show was a take on the comic strip of the same name as half-witch, half-mortal Sabrina Spellman (played by Kiernan Shipka) navigated her life as a human and supernatural being.
Compared to Sabrina The Teenage Witch, its Nineties predecessor with Melissa Joan Hart, this incarnation was darker and grittier.
Sabrina often used her magic to take on demons, spirts and evil foes while trying to be a normal teenager.
She had the help of her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch) and friends Rosalind “Roz” Walker (Jaz Sinclair) and Theo Putnam (Lachlan Watson) as they took on all manner of beasties in Greendale.

Riverdale’s showrunner is Roberto Aguirre Sacasa, who also the boss of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and he could feasibly include the teen witch.
Most recently Aguirre Sacasa posted on Twitter addressing the cancellation, telling fans: “Thank you for all the love, #sabrinanetflix fans.
“Part Four is our best yet and Part Five, ‘Witch War,’ would’ve been AMAZING. To be continued in the pages of #CAOS comic book…”
The comics see Riverdale and Greendale students coming together in season five of the series but it looks like sadly this won’t be an option now.
But there’s nothing to stop a crossover from still happening in some form or other.
Aguirre Sacasa has previously addressed a crossover between Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale, saying she almost ended up being a villain in season two confronting Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) and co.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Aguirre Sacasa said: “During season one of Riverdale — before Riverdale exploded and found its footing as sort of a noir, crime, pulp show — we had said, ‘Maybe season two will be like [the comic] Afterlife With Archie.
“’We’ll do a big genre switch and it will be horror, and it will be Afterlife and Sabrina could come and be the antagonist.’

“There was even a time when we talked about the season one cliffhanger being the arrival of Sabrina.”
In the end though, it wasn’t to be with the executive saying: “It felt like if Riverdale is crime and pulp and all that stuff, then Sabrina could be horror.
“It felt like there was a separation between Greendale and Riverdale — magic should exist in Greendale, but not in Riverdale. That was the thought.”
Sadly though, it could be a waiting game to see if any elements of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina could be incorporated into Riverdale, particularly after fellow spin-off series Katy Keene was cancelled by The CW after season one.
