Pregnant Jade Roper is expecting baby boy with Tanner Colbert

Pregnant Bachelor in Paradise star Jade Roper has revealed her third baby with husband, Tanner Tolbert, is a son. 

The 33-year-old dished the exciting news to E! News on Tuesday and said it was a ‘fun and happy surprise’ after putting all bets on having another daughter. The couple already have two-year-old daughter Emerson and 11-month-old son Brooks.

‘We are SO excited and thankful to be welcoming a healthy baby boy into our family!’ she said.

‘[Our daughter], Emmy, Tanner and I all were all putting our bets on a girl, but this is truly such a fun and happy surprise!’ added the reality TV star.

‘It may take a while for Emmy to call the baby brother though. She is still referring to him as sister.’ 

The Colorado native added that she felt as though she was now bonding more with the unborn child after his gender reveal. 

‘I’m so grateful, and I’m so happy we decided to find out before the baby is born,’ she said, adding: ‘It gives me something to look forward to and I feel even more bonded to him now.’ 

Jade and Tanner attempted to use a volcano eruption for their gender reveal, however told the publication there was a malfunction so they turned to a powder cannon instead. 

Earlier in the week the mother-of-two made expecting look like a breeze, she got real in her caption, boldly admitting:  ‘My heartburn is wicked and my lady bits hurt.’

’21 weeks tomorrow!’ she wrote in the stunning shot of her in powder blue leggings and a sports bra.

‘Starting to see baby’s little wiggles and flips now on the outside of my stomach!’ she wrote.

But things weren’t all rosy.

 ‘Feeling all sorts of symptoms (my heartburn is wicked and my lady bits hurt!), but always amazed and thankful for this little world I get to share just between the two of us.’

This comes after the reality star opened up about the early term miscarriage she endured between the birth of her first and second children. 

Jade laid her heart bare while answering questions on her Instagram Story this past Thursday, admitting the loss still makes her emotional.

‘I … had a chemical pregnancy the month before I became pregnant with Brooks,’ she explained.

A chemical pregnancy is an early pregnancy loss that occurs shortly after implantation, bur before ultrasounds can detect a fetus. Still, it is early for a pregnancy test to detect levels of the hormone hGC. 

It was a heavy loss for Jade, who said: ‘I don’t talk about them publicly very much, probably because I still always cry even though a lot of time has passed, and it always catches me off guard that there’s still so much more under the surface.’

The beauty said she and husband Tanner ‘lost a baby when [they] first got together,’ something Jade had previously opened up about last year. 

‘We actually got pregnant while on [Bachelor in Paradise], and we didn’t find out until after when I was back in Kansas City visiting him,’ the reality personality said at the time. ‘I just knew that I was late and something felt different.’ 

Her theory was confirmed after a positive pregnancy test. She and Tanner made plans to move in together, but shortly after she lost the baby. 

‘At the time, I didn’t really grieve because I just didn’t know really how to process it,’ Jade went on.

‘It was so much so fast. In a really bad way, it was almost like this relief. It wasn’t really until after I had Emerson that I realized how much I love my child and how amazing of a miracle it is, and I think I really grieved that child much later.’ 

The Tolberts are one of Bachelor Nation’s happily-ever-after stories. 

Neither found love as contestants on The Bachelor/Bachelorette but sparks flew when the pair were introduced to each other on season two of Bachelor In Paradise and later had their dream wedding filmed for the show.
