Kate Garraway hoping TV return will get 'reaction' from husband as visit finally allowed

Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper was admitted to hospital three months ago with coronavirus. Now the Good Morning Britain favourite is hoping to see him today, revealing all on the ITV show.

The 53-year-old spoke out on her second day back at work since her spouse fell unwell with COVID-19 in March.

Staff looking after her other half are said to be switching on GMB for him in the hope of stimulating a response.

Although doctors are no longer keeping the 52-year-old in a coma, Kate has said that “he sort of can’t wake-up”.

The mother-of-two returned to work on Monday after taking time off while Derek has been in intensive care.

“Thanks so much for your incredibly kind messages. Means such a lot. Derek had a stable day too so [fingers crossed]. See you at 6am tomorrow xxx.”

Kate was immediately inundated with replies, including one from her colleague and pal Piers Morgan.

The 55-year-old is currently in the south of France enjoying a two-month break from the early starts.
