A Rare Honey for Your Table

Black sage, a spiky shrublike plant native to Southern California and Northern Mexico, flowers only about every three years. So black sage honey is a rare thing for the Savannah Bee Company, which buys it from a beekeeper who only gets three to four yields a decade. The honey is earthy and a bit rustic, with a distinctive spiciness. Drizzle it on grilled peaches.

Black Sage Honey, $7 to $100, savannahbee.com.
