Fans are hoping to learn more about the PS5 Price this week, following news that an Amazon placeholder page has gone live. The new PlayStation 5 Amazon section does not contain anything new on how much the console will cost but it does come with a lot of other prior information. Plenty of news has been shared regarding the new games coming with the launch but gamers are still waiting to find out the price of the new Sony console.
The good news is that might be changing this week, with the new Amazon Pre Order page going live.
An earlier leak suggested that a big PS5 reveal was being worked on for this week by PlayStation.
Some of that news was shared by Roberto Serrano, a leaker who previously correctly revealed the rescheduled date of the PS5 event before Sony announced it.
It was believed that Sony wouldn’t hold an event to announce this news, but would instead reveal the major PS5 announcement in a PlayStation Blog post.
While this hasn’t surfaced yet, there’s a chance something like this might be happening in the coming days or before the end of July.
It’s believed in August a new State of Play will be broadcast, detailing more on first and third party games heading to the PS5.
One of the titles that is rumoured to be getting showcased is a Silent Hill reboot, which allegedly will be exclusive to the PS5.
While we may also get a Final Fantasy announcement from Square Enix, possibly a FF16 reveal or the first look at Part 2 of the FF7 Remake.
It has taken Sony a long time to announce its full plans for the PS5, with the design of the console only recently confirmed.
A message from Eric Lempel, PlayStation’s Head of Global Marketing and Consumer Experience, explained the situation, adding:
“Coming out of PlayStation 4, all of the success we’ve seen, and the fans’ passion for the brand, we really wanted to make sure we delivered strongly with PlayStation 5.
“As we’ve said many times, PS5 is truly a next-generation console. It’s a leap ahead. And we wanted to wait for the right time when everything lined up.
“And I think, and I hope, that fans saw that we had a great mix of content from our partners and our studios, and that we delivered on expectations.
“What I’m really happy about is that, this time around, there are a large number of independent developers who are also going to be with us around the launch timeframe.
“So you saw some of those titles today: The Pathless from Annapurna, Bugsnax from Young Horses. And then a franchise that goes back to the first PlayStation, with Oddworld.
“We have Oddworld Soulstorm from Oddworld Inhabitants… it’s great to see how far that franchise has come, and how it will be introduced to a whole new generation on PS5.”
