  • The Austrian Open was won by Marc Warren by a single shot on Sunday
  • It was the Scot’s first victory on the European Tour in more than six years
  • Warren was a 150-1 outsider but has claimed his fourth Tour win of his career 

Marc Warren clinched his first European Tour title in six years when he won the Austrian Open by a shot. 

The Scot birdied two of the last four holes at Diamond Country Club to finish a shot clear of Germany’s Marcel Schneider.

This was the first event in Europe since the lockdown.

Warren, 39, a 150-1 outsider going into the tournament, claimed his fourth Tour victory and first since August 2014. 

He said: ‘In the years since then, I’ve played very poorly. 

‘The break’s been unfortunate for everyone but it came at a good time for me, spending some time at home and trying to get my game ready.’
