Twitter reaction

Mo: A draw for Manchester United today and the last game between the Red Devils and Leicester will be a delicious bowl of football not to be missed by anyone.

Andy: In Manchester United penalty bingo, going for 24 minutes for the time when they are awarded their first penalty tonight.

Amrul: Huge day in race for Champions League, Manchester City have started a scramble.

Like that Mo. Like that a lot. Makes me think of soup. And as we all know, Chicken & Vegetable is the king of soups. I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise…

Team news – Manchester United

Thank you, Opta! They’ve just informed me that Manchester United are unchanged for the fifth Premier League game running. The first time since February 1993!

Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford all continue in attack. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes together in the middle of the park with Nemanja Matic providing the steel.

Team news – Southampton

Southampton also stay unchanged from their 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.

I watched that match and they were extremely unlucky NOT to have won about 43-1.

Danny Ings starts and will presumably play the full 90 minutes as he looks to claw back Golden Boot leader Jamie Vardy, who has 23 goals.

Jannik Vestergaard has recovered from a thigh problem to make the squad.

Starting XI

Guess what? Manchester United are unchanged again… That’s the fifth game on the trot and someone more prepared than me will tell you exactly the last time happened.

I’ll then steal their information and tell you that in around five minutes. Full analysis coming up.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, Matic, Pogba, Fernandes, Martial, Greenwood, Rashford.

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Mata, Pereira, Fred, James, Ighalo, McTominay, Williams.

Southampton XI: McCarthy, Walker-Peters, Bertrand, Stephens, Bednarek, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Redmond, Armstrong, Adams, Ings.

Subs: Gunn, Vestergaard, Long, Obafemi, Hojbjerg, Smallbone, Vokins, Danso, Ferry.

The form…

Manchester United are just hot at the moment. It’s just a fact. They’ve been pretty outrageous going forward.

Their victory against Aston Villa meant they became the first Premier League team to win four consecutive matches by at least three goals.

Undefeated in their last 17 matches in all competitions and on their best run since going 18 games without defeat in March 2013.

So I guess it all sounds simple enough on paper.

But, and it’s a very BIG but, Manchester United have won just two of their last six Premier League home games against Southampton.

The Saints beat Manchester City and have Danny Ings banging them in for fun. I like the look of this game.

Evening…

Hello everyone and welcome to our LIVE coverage of Manchester United vs Southampton from Old Trafford.

Massive, massive night for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. with the Red Devils looking to leapfrog Leicester and Chelsea into third position with three fixtures remaining.

Less enormous for Southampton, who have the tantalising prospect of jumping above Everton into 11th. Still a lovely place to be considering where Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side were earlier this season.

So… it’s the unstoppable force against the away-day specialists.

Team news and line ups coming shortly. Standby.
