Meghan Markle fears isolated Archie will lack social skills

Meghan Markle has been worried Archie doesn’t have enough interaction with other toddlers and wishes she could join a ‘Mommy and Me’ class to be around other new mothers, a close friend revealed to DailyMail.com.

‘Meghan said Archie needs to learn emotional and social skills by being around other young children, something he can’t do with adults.

‘Meghan said ideally they (she and Archie) would be in a baby group class that met in person a couple of times a week. This would give Archie the opportunity to play with other toddlers and help develop his brain.’

But although Meghan said she’d love to join a baby group class where she could have play dates with other new moms, she admitted it would be ‘impossible’.

‘Meghan said she would love to be part of a ‘Mommy and Me’ community, but knows this is impossible even if there was no COVID-19 because of who she is. She said she’s just too well known to do normal things,’ the friend said.

Meghan, Prince Harry and one-year-old Archie have been holed up at Hollywood tycoon Tyler Perry’s mega-mansion since March when they made a quick dash to LA before Canada closed its border due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The friend added: ‘Meghan does take advantage of connecting with others online and on Zoom, but says it’s just not the same as in person.

‘Plus the consistency of biweekly ‘Mommy and Me’ classes would be good for Archie and a place where she could just be a mom and make new lifelong friends.’

The Sussexes have been laying low and have only been spotted out a handful of times since their move to LA, but they have been actively making video messages for various causes.

On Monday they teamed up to take part in a video call with young leaders for a discussion on justice and equal rights.

Harry warned the Commonwealth’s past wrongs need to be acknowledged to be able to move forward, as they joined one of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust’s weekly sessions set up in response to the growing Black Lives Matter movement.

In the wake of the Black Lives Matter conversation, Meghan herself was dragged into a racial controversy when her best friend Jessica Mulroney threatened to sue black influencer Sasha Exeter after the pair got into a spat over racism on Instagram.

Mulroney was promptly fired from ABC’s Good Morning America and had her Canadian reality TV show cancelled.

In her public apology, she referenced Meghan, writing: ‘I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and center. It was deeply educational. I learned a lot from that.’

Meghan remained silent and people close to the Canadian stylist have claimed Meghan ditched Mulroney in order to appear ‘woke’.

DailyMail.com previously revealed that Meghan was ‘absolutely mortified’ that she had been ‘dragged into this complete mess’ when Mulroney referred to their friendship in her apology post.

‘She said Jessica is in no way a racist, but the way she handled the situation (with the fashion influencer) was tone-deaf and heartbreaking,’ a close friend of Meghan’s said.

‘Meghan said friends reflect friends and because of what’s at stake she can no longer be associated with Jessica, at least not in public. She has to do what she has to do in order to preserve her dignity and her own reputation,’ they added.

The scandal brought intense embarrassment to Meghan who devoted her brief time as a royal to promoting social good and is a life-long racial equality activist.

The source added that they ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if this marked the ‘beginning of the end of their friendship’.

They also said that Meghan cannot publicly defend Mulroney in this case or help salvage her career.

‘It’s not like Meghan can just call up ABC and defend Jessica,’ the source said. ‘There was a reason Meghan waited to so long to make a statement. She wanted to get it right. She said she urged Jessica to do the same thing from the get-go.’
