Susanna Reid speaks out on 'intensely personal' issue: 'We have failed'

Cambridge University staff have said they will hold lectures online for the entire year while Manchester, Reading and Queen’s Belfast will hold online lectures in the autumn term.

Parents, including Susanna, were disheartened to discover that universities will still be charging full fees for students despite the decline of contact hours.

One student has started an online petition to demand a refund for the loss of face to face to teaching, which has so far gained 330,000 signatures.

University fees are currently capped at £9,250, which is covered by student loans, however, international students do pay more.
