Two years ago, in 2018, Page Six reported that the multiple-Grammy Award winner, Mariah Carey, was getting ready to release a new memoir. This Wednesday, the star took to her Instagram account to say that she had finally finished the book.
Carey said it took her a “lifetime” to muster up the courage as well as the clarity to write her memoir. The singer-songwriter went on to say that the memoir touches on some of her most intimate moments and struggles over the years.
Carey reportedly worked on the new project with Michaela Angela Davis, and it’ll be published under Andy Cohen’s company.
Mariah Carey has for a long time been a massive star in the entertainment industry. Over the years, her struggles and wins throughout her career have been on full display, as well as her personal life with her former husband, Nick Cannon.
During a recent interview, Cannon described his ex-wife as one of the most talented women who has ever lived. The star claimed that he dreamed about marrying Carey from when he was just 12-years-old, so when he and Carey finally got married, he got everything he ever wanted.
Despite the fact their relationship is over now, Cannon still believes to this day that Mariah was the one and only for him. Fans of the former couple know they first got married following just weeks of dating in 2008.
In a new interview, Cannon said to reporters from Variety that he wanted to marry Mariah Carey from when he was a young boy, but he wasn’t threatened by her status, despite the fact she had more star-power than he did. Moreover, the rapper-actor stated that he couldn’t “hold a candle” to the amount of talent she has.
He went on to say, “I was comfortable in myself and who I was,” and it was never a competition between him and her regarding the success of their careers. Carey, of course, is one of the highest-selling recording artists of all time.

Nick is primarily known for his work on television shows, although, his name has popped up intermittently in the hip-hop world.
