Man Utd issued Mason Greenwood warning over Jadon Sancho transfer rumours

“He’s just 18, he’s doing really well, he’s only played 31 per-cent of Premier League minutes for Manchester United so far this season, eight Premier League goals and 17 goals in all competitions from 41 appearances.

“There’s a risk of getting over-carried away, there’s no qustion mark over his talents, but you do have to be careful about how often you play a player like that in the first-team when he’s still a teenager.

“If you put that expectation in that he’ll be a starter every week, that changes the dynamic of the way he’s playing and the psychology around it.

“Also you’ve got the story of how he’s got to be in the England team – we know what that can do to players when you add that expectation that he could be a starter for England going into an international tournament year.

“The logical way to look at it from Manchester United is that they now have a really good option and someone who will be a clear starter for the team in the next two years, and can have over 10 years of a top-level forward, but let’s build that career carefully by not over-exposing him and bringing in a top-level player like Jadon Sancho to add to your attacking options, that’s not going to hurt the club going into next season.”
