Leicester star Ben Youngs has backed Manu Tuilagi to make next year’s Lions tour even if he moves abroad.

As one of five players who turned down a cut-price contract at Leicester, Tuilagi is now looking at playing opportunities in England, France and Japan.

A move overseas would make the 29-year-old ineligible for England but Youngs believes he would still feature in Warren Gatland’s Lions squad.

‘I’m sure he’s got every opportunity of making that tour whether he’s playing in England or not,’ said Youngs. 

‘He’s an unbelievable talent. The five guys are good friends of mine. I wish them all the best.’

Meanwhile, six players and four staff tested positive for coronavirus during Premiership Rugby’s first round of testing. A total of 804 players and club staff were tested.
