Kate Middleton follows Meghan Markle's style lead with sustainable fashion choices

But while sustainable labels are starting to make their way into Kate’s coveted wardrobe, it could be another royal’s influence that’s sparked the change.

Meghan Markle, 38, has long been using her celebrity and royal status to showcase brands with a more ethical approach to fashion.

The Duchess of Sussex has worn established labels such as Stella McCartney, who has paved the way for using sustainable materials and being more environmentally friendly.

However, she’s also championed smaller, lesser known brands to thrust them into the spotlight – and it’s likely the choices have been very deliberate in order to use her influence for good.

Meghan has famously worn trainers by French fashion brand Veja, whose sneakers are made with raw materials sourced from organic farming and ecological agriculture, as well as clothes by fair-trade brand Mayamiko and Room 502, which uses ethically sourced materials, production and labour.
