Aldi giving away £1,000 shopping vouchers to one lucky customer – how to be in with chance

Britons have spent more time than usual at home during the coronavirus lockdown. With pubs closed, many have got creative and even built their own versions at home. Aldi customers could win vouchers worth more than £1,000 by showing off their at-home pubs.

Over the last few days, pubs and restaurants have been allowed to reopen in some parts of the UK with new safety measures in place.

However, some eager homeowners have not missed out on the pub experience in recent months.

DIY fans across the country have transformed their gardens into their own personal bars.

These cover all types of bars from classic pub gardens to makeshift gin bars.

DON’T MISS

Aldi has now launched a search for the best and most creative DIY at-home bar to be built during lockdown.

Managing director of buying at Aldi UK Julie Ashfield said: “Even though pubs and bars are beginning to open, the prospect of this is daunting for many.

“Research shows that we have loved our time drinking at home, so we expect appetite for enjoying a glass or two in the house to continue long after lockdown fully eases.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer a fantastic range of great value beers, wines and spirits so whether shoppers want to create fancy cocktails or just have a simple beer, we’ve got everything they need for an enjoyable at home pub experience.”

The competition has been launched on the Aldi Facebook page and the winner will receive shopping vouchers worth more than £1,000.

Budding landlords can enter on the Facebook page by liking Aldi’s post and commenting a picture of their pub anytime before July 21.

The winner will be picked by two new garden pub landlords: estate agent Sadie Jones and interior designer Nick Threadgold.

The couple have recently attracted attention as they transformed their shed into ‘The Stagger Inn’ during lockdown.

Sadie said: “We’re very excited to be partnering with Aldi on this search for the UK’s best at home bar.

“We were missing our favourite pubs, but since we decided to build our own, we’ve not looked back.

“It was such a fun and creative project and it’s an affordable way to enjoy our favourite drinks at home – we’re thrilled with the result.”
