Dark season 3 ending explained: Who died at the end of Dark?

Who died at the end of Dark?

The final scene featured a group of characters sat around a dining table in contemporary Winden.

Katharina Nielsen (Jordis Triebel), Regina, Hannah Kahnwald (Maja Schöne), Peter Doppler (Stephan Kampwirth), Torben Wöller (Leopold Hornung) and Benni Wöller (Anton Rubtsov) were all at dinner.

This group seemed to be the only ones who had survived and everyone in Adam and Eve’s worlds were dead. They may well have survived because they were not created as a result of time travel.

However, it seems a version of Claudia must have survived in order to give birth to Regina in the Origin World.

Going by this logic, Katharina’s mother, Egon Tiedemann (Christian Pätzold), Doris Tiedemann (Luise Heyer), Helge Doppler (Hermann Beyer) and Greta Doppler (Cordelia Wege) are still alive or at least a version existed in the Origin World.

Tannhaus, meanwhile, is alive in the Origin world as well.

Interestingly, Hannah was revealed to be pregnant with police officer Wöller’s baby and said she was planning to name the child Jonas after catching a glimpse of a yellow raincoat.

This means, a version of Jonas could be alive in the Origin World.

Although the dinner party didn’t feature many characters, there’s nothing to suggest Magnus Nielsen (Moritz Jahn), Martha and Mikkel Nielsen (Daan Lennard Liebrenz) couldn’t be alive. They may simply not have been invited.

Something else worth considering is Bartosz Tiedemann (Paul Lux) could still be alive in the Origin World because there’s nothing to suggest his mother didn’t give birth to him.

Either way, it’s clear the creators have left this open to interpretation.
