Sissy Spacek was born on December 25, 1949, and she’s earned the reputation of Hollywood’s most beautiful aging ladies. It’s hard to believe that she’s 70-years-old and now the Oscar-winner is opening up about how she has stayed grounded throughout her 50-year career. Speaking to Closer for their upcoming July 13, 2020, issue, Sissy revealed that she is having the best time of her life. She is a native-born Texan and retreats from Hollywood to her Virginia farm. It is the farm life that keeps her grounded and has helped her prioritize the things that matter most to her — her husband of 43 years Jack Fisk. Speaking to Closer, Sissy Spacek stated the following.
“For 40 years I have lived on a farm in Virginia and I’ve raised my children there. I’m able to get away from all the noise and work on my garden in my pajamas. The cows don’t care about movies.”
It is this attitude towards life that has kept Sissy grounded despite her Hollywood fame and success and she also spoke about the importance of family as well as how losing her brother at an early age shaped her. Sissy and her brother Robbie were close in age — she was 17 when Robbie died from leukemia at 18-years-old. Robbie’s death propelled Sissy to live life fully and helped her always see what was most important in life. Within seven years, she would find her life and career forever changed when she starred in the movie Badlands.

Sissy Spacek starred in the 2018 television series Castle Rock and Homecoming. That year she also starred in the films LCD Soundsystem: Oh Baby and The Old Man & The Gun. She has one project in development — a film called Sweet Tea.
