Claudia Conway, the 15-year-old daughter of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and prominent President Donald Trump critic George Conway, has become a viral TikTok star, thanks to her pro-Black Lives Matter and anti-Trump videos.
The young girl, who is very close to both of her parents, is using her platform to educate her generation when it comes to issues like social justice.
The teenager recently told USA Today: “I know a lot of my friends are so informed, and I think they wouldn’t be if it weren’t for social media, which is why I think using one’s platform for good and for the education of others is so, so important, especially in our day.”
She continued: “My dad is pretty supportive of it, you know, my mom, she’s always taught me to stand up for what I believe in. A lot of people have been telling me that I’m disrespecting my mother by doing this—I’m not at all,” Claudia said. “I want nothing but love for her because she is an amazing person.”
Claudia also revealed how she got deeper in this form of activism. She explained: “Growing up in a family where you’re really only exposed to one side and your mom is a public figure working for some of the biggest Republican politicians in the nation, you know, 12-year-old me was wondering, ‘Why? Why is my mom doing this? ‘What does she believe in? Why does she believe this, and why does she fight for this so much?’ And so I started reading.”
And when it comes to her parents’ marriage, she admits that Trump has been a form of a wedge issue. The activist added: “I honestly don’t think it’s anyone else’s business, other than my family and mine, to be honest. It’s kind of frustrating that I’ve kind of grown up around that.”
One commenter reacted to her statements with: “Kudos to her for speaking up on what she believes in instead of letting her associates & company she keeps silence her!”
A second person chimed in: “That’s gotta be awkward at home when your husband and child are completely against you, and everything you stand for lol.”
