Queen of the South season 5: Teresa star teases character's return 'Anything can happen!'

Production of the fourth season for the USA Network was shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak in March. As the delay continues, Queen of the South fans have been calling for the return of a popular character from the second and third seasons.

The fourth season of Queen of the South saw drug mogul Teresa Mendoza (played by Alice Braga) expand her operation to New Orleans.

Teresa fully embraces her new life as the head of one of Mexico’s biggest cartels by the thrilling season finale, which also set the stage for season five.

After taking over El Gordo’s (Pêpê Rapazote) operations and striking a new deal with a Russian drug boss, the final moments of episode 13 hit fans with a shocking cliffhanger.

At the last moment, Teresa’s ex-boyfriend James (Peter Gadiot) returned with a severe gun wound and was being pursued by a mysterious threat.

While James’ unexpected return has set up an explosive start to season five, fans are hoping some other characters could make an appearance.

During a live conversation with fans on her personal YouTube channel, Alice Braga addressed rumours recurring character Lil T (Snow Tha Product) could make her comeback in season five.

Answering a fan’s question Alice said: “Can we get Lil T back? Yes, I miss her!”

Lil T was introduced as a member of Teresa’s team back in season two, played by Claudia Alexandra Madriz, also known as rapper Snow Tha Product.

Alice Braga addressed the comments and confirmed anything was possible, especially after the thrilling revelations of the last season.

The Queen of the South star said: “Actually she should come back. I don’t know if we will, I mean anything can happen.

“We just got a season five so keep asking, write to the writers. Lil T, she was phenomenal.”

Snow was most recently focusing on her musical career, including a thirty date tour, Goin Off, which started on May 1, 2019.

Season four has seen a resurgence in popularity after being added on streaming platform Netflix, making the USA Network show available to international subscribers.

The series was renewed for a fifth season back in August 2019 following the success of the previous instalment’s premiere in June.

When season five finally returns to production after the coronavirus pandemic, fans could hopefully see some major players brought back into the fold.

Queen of the South season 4 is available to stream on Netflix.
