Lucifer season 5: Will Lucifer’s backstory finally be explored? Star teases huge reveals

Lucifer season five part one will be released on Netflix on August 21 after fans have been waiting more than a year for new episodes. Ahead of the latest outing, the creators of the shows have teased what will happen in the new season of the show, with some hints it could even explore Lucifer Morningstar’s (played by Tom Ellis) past.

Will Lucifer’s backstory finally be explored in season 5?

Season five of Lucifer is officially on its way on August 21 after much anticipation about the new episode.

And now the release date has officially been announced, more information about the upcoming series is being released thick and fast.

This includes how the show has even been renewed for a sixth season, which work has already begun on.

Now the latest update from the show creators came about one particular episode in season five.

“So let’s open it up and have Lucifer tell this story to someone.

“And if we’re really doing a homage to Princess Bride, that person should be Trixie (Scarlet Estevez).”

Giving a bit more context on the episode, Modrovich also explained how Lucifer will be casting other characters to play the roles in the flashback.

As a result, viewers should expect to see Lauren German’s Chloe Decker and Kevin Alejandro’s Dan Espinoza as you’ve never seen them before.

However, aside from the fun which comes with seeing the flashbacks, there will also be some huge revelations about Lucifer and Maze.

Modrovich teased: “Lesley-Ann is going to break your heart for sure.”

So far on the show, Lucifer’s past beyond when viewers first meet him in season one has rarely been touched upon.

Although in a bonus episode released during season three of Lucifer, the show did explore when the devil first arrived in Los Angeles ahead of moving there.

He visited the city along with Amendiel (DB Woodside) before he decided to make his visit permanent and open his nightclub Lux a few years prior to the show beginning.

However, aside from this, viewers just know the ruler of Hell seemingly spent most of his time in the underworld.

Therefore, it seems there could be some important reveals about his mysterious past finally explored in season five.

Lucifer season 5 is released on Netflix on August 21.
