Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster welcome new addition to family: ‘Congratulations’

Rod Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster, have welcomed a baby chick to their growing collection of farm animals, as they showed off the cute fluffy addition on Instagram. The former Ultimo model shared a sweet snapshot of the baby chick cuddled close to its mum’s chest on her Instagram story.

She captioned the photo: “Congratulations Mummy.”

Last week, Penny posted a separate story a video of Rod feeding tiny baby chickens in their back garden.

Taking the opportunity to tease her spouse, the Famous and Fighting Crime star captioned the photo: “Rod’s still a chick magnet.”

He was seen sporting bright green New Balance trainers paired with stripy socks as he relaxed in the sunshine.

Before marrying Rod, Penny worked as a successful fashion model, and now she has sat her policing exams and signed up to volunteer for the special constable programme after lockdown lifts.

A jack of many trades, she appeared on dance programme Strictly Come Dancing in 2007 until being voted off in week six.

Penny revealed recently on former dance partner Ian Waite’s Fitsteps show that Strictly had tested her relationship with Rod.

She shared: “The funniest thing is my husband said, ‘It’s fantastic you’re doing Strictly. Live your wildest dreams and go for it girl.’

“But then he was like, ‘Who are you dancing with?'”

Penny continued: “I’m dancing with Ian and Rod said, ‘Well, that’s fine then.'”

She added: “But he still got jealous. He was like, ‘I’ve lost my wife. She’s in the arms of another man. She’s spending five to six hours a day with another man.'”

However, Rod quickly got over it, and Penny said he sent Ian his “best wishes”.
