Melania Trump style: How to copy the First Lady’s glowing tan at home – step by step

Melania Trump may have recently turned 50, but the First Lady still looks as good as she did in her former modelling days. With a slender figure and her signature flawless blow-dry, the wife of President Donald Trump, 74, always appears catwalk-ready. But while she still has her supermodel style, there are also plenty of beauty secrets the First Lady uses to look her best.

The housekeepers said that it would wash off in the shower, and so the maids had to work hard to “make sure any traces were removed from the white surfaces in the bathroom”.

The brand that Melania used is unknown, but whichever it is she is clearly a dab hand at applying it – as she regularly looks sunkissed whenever she is snapped by the paparazzi.

So how can you get the look from home?

First, you’ll want to make sure your legs are in tip-top condition; body brush daily and use a product such as Legology’s Air-Lite Daily Lift For Legs, £45, to reduce puffiness and enhance skin tone.

Next, if you want a tan that leaves a little less mess behind, St Tropez’s Tanning and Skin Finishing Expert Michaella Bolder has the ultimate guide for tanning your whole body from home.

“Buff, buff, buff away in the shower to lift off any excess dead and dull skin cells, then add a dose of St.Tropez Prep & Maintain Tan Remover Mousse to smooth and prime your super soft, even skin tone,” explained Michaella.

“Next, apply a 10p-sized amount of oil free moisturiser to your elbows, hands, wrists, knees, feet and ankles to prevent the tan grabbing in those pesky dry areas.” Try CeraVe Moisturising Lotion, £8.99.

“Using a fresh tanning mitt and four pumps of St.Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Gel, start on your arms, gliding the self tan in long sweeping motions covering the entire top half of your body,” explained Michaella, who said you can keep adding more tan to your mitt as you move around the body.

“Work downwards over your torso, then thighs, finishing off on your calves and dragging your mitt (with no extra product) over your feet and ankles.”

Michaella advised to then use the mitt to blend a soft layer over your hands, without topping up with any extra product.

“Turning your mitt over to a clean surface, buff your tan all over using a quick circular movement to further blend and even out your tan,” suggested Michaella.

If you’re worried your body will now look darker than your face, you can then apply a double spritz of a face product such as St.Tropez Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist for a dewy glow that will develop within just four hours.

“Take a shower after three hours to wash off any guide colour and reveal a deep rich flawless tan,” added the expert, who also noted that the trick to Melania’s flawless healthy glow is to remember to moisturise your tan every day with a rich body butter.
