Before joining season three, Kandi explained she was a fan of the show but assumed there may have been some post-production trickery involved.

The star revealed: “No, we are really singing. I thought that too when I saw season one and season two I was like ‘they’re lip syncing’. That’s what I thought.”

Thankfully, Kandi had nothing to be nervous about as she handily beat out the competition and took home the gold in the epic final showdown.

Many viewers saw the win as an upset when she beat out fan favourite the Turtle, revealed to be country star Jesse McCartney.

While other fans came out in droves to support Kandi on social media following her success.

Despite coming out on top, the road to victory wasn’t always easy as Kandi touched on one of the biggest issues with her iconic Night Angel costume.
