Terry Crews Says That Brooklyn Nine Nine Is Getting An Overhaul Following BLM Protests

Terry Crews revealed today that the new season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine had been altered entirely on account of the Black Lives Matter protests. As fans of the actor know, Terry has been a loud voice in the movement against racism and the fight for racial equality.

During a new interview, the host of America’s Got Talent shared that the series had chosen to ditch the first four scripts from the 8th season to become more relevant to what is going on in the world today following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Put simply, the studio re-worked the plotline completely to coincide with the political situation the United States finds itself in after the Black Lives Matter protests kicked off around the world and lasted for two weeks.

It came shortly after governments from around the world demanded people to stay home to help fight the spread of COVID-19. In the past, Terry has been very honest about his experiences in the world as a black man, especially a large one.

Moreover, Crews claims he has had a gun pointed at him one time on account of mistaken identity. The star has said in the past that he fears what’s going to happen to his 14-year-old son.

Among Terry’s other outspoken statements in the industry, on the 19th of June, 2020, Ricki Mathers reported that Terry refused to back down on his previous comments. Terry said on social media that he was against the idea of “black supremacy.”

During his appearence on The Talk, Crews explained his previous tweet in which he said that eliminating “white supremacy” meant nothing if white people weren’t involved. “Equality is the truth,” the actor explained, and without other races, it would just create a black supremacist society, which wouldn’t be much better.

Moreover, Terry explained his other political views in which he commented on the way in which he has been castigated by other black people for not holding the same views. The star said he has been called an “Uncle Tom” by others for not holding “black power”-esque views, in addition to his successful career.
