The brand new sci-fi thriller features Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly aboard the class-segregated Snowpiercer train. As the show races ahead on TNT and Netflix, some viewers have spotted a glaring feature with the train’s rear carriages.
Adapted from Bong Joon-ho’s film of the same name, Snowpiercer reboots the original continuity for a new murder mystery aboard the apocalyptic railway line.
After scientists tried to tackle the climate crisis by cooling the skies, the world freezes over leaving the 1,001 carriages of the Snowpiercer as humanity’s last hope.
The train’s elite passengers live a life of luxury at the front of the train, while former detective Andre Layton (played by Daveed Diggs) and other stowaways struggle to survive in the Tail.
Spoilers ahead – in the latest episode, Trouble Comes Sideways, head of hospitality and the voice of Mr Wilford Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) revealed a sinister secret about the passengers being kept in stasis.

Although more secrets are unveiled each week, some viewers are still confused by the logistics of the train’s passengers.
Despite taking off from Chicago, the Snowpiercer’s Tail is seemingly composed of people from all over the globe who speak a multitude of different languages.
Moreover, South Korean director Bong Joon-ho filmed most of the original film in English but also included major speaking roles for Korean actors Song Kang-ho and Go Ah-sung.
However, the multilingual aspect of the show and film’s cast has left several viewers scratching their heads considering the stowaways originated from the same city.
However, other fans argued there wouldn’t be much of a time jump in the series as the extinction catalyst in the original film occurs in 2014.
Another fan added: “In the movie there was a year mentioned in the caption, I think it was 2031, but I’m not 100%. That would mean the extinction happened in 2014 (movie release was 2013).
“So I think it’s fair to assume that the extinction event is only a couple of years after present day.”
Meanwhile, another Snowpiercer enthusiast teased there could be more secrets to be revealed about the train’s passengers in later seasons.
The film and show are based on graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette, which was followed by several sequels and a prequel series.
This reader assured fans upcoming prequel books Apocalypse and Annihilation could finally resolve some of Snowpiercer’s biggest mysteries.
However, the series’ narrative has already departed significantly from the source material, so the confirmed second season could go in an entirely new direction.
