Disney Plus free trial: Can you still get Disney+ free?

Disney+ has finally arrived in the UK after what felt like an age and fans are excited to catch up on all the incredible content. With more than 500 movies, 350 series and 26 exclusive originals to binge, whether you’re enjoying a Disney Classic film or a brand new TV series, you may well be considering signing up.

And there’s even more new content to enjoy, with Disney+ only weeks away from releasing the recording of the Broadway production of Hamilton, scheduled to debut on the service on July 3.

The multi-award-winning musical Hamilton was originally scheduled to be released in cinemas October 2021.

But due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Disney decided to push forward the release to the streaming service.

Recorded live at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, fans will get to see Manuel-Miranda in action as the title character.

Daveed Diggs, Jonathan Groff, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Leslie Odom Jr will also star.

Can you get Disney+ free?

The Disney Plus promotion allowing new users a week-long free trial of the streaming service is no longer available.

The development comes weeks ahead of the eagerly-anticipated musical Hamilton’s July 3 debut on the streaming service.

A Disney Plus spokesperson said in a statement to The Verge: “We continue to test and evaluate different marketing, offers, and promotions to grow Disney+.

“The service was set at an attractive price-to-value proposition that we believe delivers a compelling entertainment offering on its own.”

This has been helped in part by international rollouts in India, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, France and Switzerland.

Both Netflix and Amazon Prime offer first-time users a free 30-day trial.

Early indications about the free trial’s end will have on Disney+ subscriptions are hard to tell.

But the streaming service netted more than 50 million subscribers in its first five months.

As well as Hamilton, another of the summer’s biggest releases is Frozen 2.

This animation is heading to the UK version of the streaming service two weeks before it was originally planned on July 3.

Frozen 2 is already available on the US version of Disney+, having been released on the streaming service extra early in March.

In addition to the movie, new documentary series Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2 will premiere globally on Disney Plus on Friday, June 26.

The six-part show goes behind the scenes with the filmmakers and cast who helped bring Elsa and Anna’s second adventure to life.

Hopefully, fans have already made good use of the free trial already.

But for those who are looking to sign up, the streaming service is £5.99 per month.
