Chelsea boss Frank Lampard drops hint over Man City team selection after Aston Villa win

“Today, we couldn’t do it. It was more about recoveries and second balls against City we will want to be more aggressive in the work we do to win it back. We will look at the attributes of the players and we will see.”

Chelsea struggled in the first half against Villa but, now, are in pole position to finish in the Premier League top four.

And Lampard feels it was vital for his players to return to action with a win, particularly with so much to play for at this point in time.

“I think it is important for the group because I think we have seen all the games are looking different,” said the Blues boss.

“It is an obvious statement with the crowds, but in terms of the actual detail of the games and the tempo, the matches, the tiredness factor that has been coming into them too.
