Once again, despite the fact that it’s been years since their divorce, Nick Cannon is raving about his former wife, Mariah Carey! Not only did he label her as one of the ‘most talented women on the planet’ but Nick mentioned he wanted to make her his wife since he was only 12 so when they finally tied the knot, it was like a dream come true!
Cannon holds the singer to such a high regard that, even today, when they are no longer romantically involved, he still thinks she was the one and only for him.
As you might remember, the two tied the knot after only weeks of dating back in 2008.
Obviously, Mariah is and has been for a long time, one of the biggest names in the industry.
While Nick also had a level of fame when they met, she was considered way out of his league but he is the type of person to get what he wants!
‘I live my faith. I like speaking all my things into existence. I wanted to marry Mariah Carey since I was twelve years old,’ he shared with Variety in a new interview.
He went on to recall that ‘My ego outside of the house was grand but at the house it was healthy. I was there to support whatever she wanted to do.’
And that is when the man went on to gush over his ex and mother of his twins big time!
Explaining why that was the case for them as a married couple, Nick dished: ‘I mean, it’s Mariah Carey. How was I supposed to be? She is one of the most talented women to ever [walk] this planet. I cannot hold a candle to that woman. I always used to say that it worked so well because it was a healthy balance. It was never a competition with me. It was like, ‘I will turn mine off so she can turn hers on.’ I was comfortable in myself and who I was.’

In 2014 they split and two years later they also made it official by divorcing, but in the years since Nick has gushed over Mariah many times.
