Chipmaker MaxLinear says hit by 'Maze' ransomware attack

(Reuters) – Radio-frequency chip maker MaxLinear Inc said on Tuesday it was hit by a cyber attack, with a hacker releasing some proprietary information about the company online.

The security incident resulted from a “Maze” ransomware, the company said in a filing, adding that it has no plans to satisfy the attacker’s monetary demands.
